Minnesota Covid 19 mask
1. How many times can I wash and Re-use my mask?
It has been tested in commercial laundry cycles and can also be dry cleaned. After washing tests the masks had no decrease in their effectiveness at catching and killing bugs. It is thought the elastic would begin to weaken long before the mask will begin to lose its effectiveness.
2. Why does the mask cost $35? I can get disposable masks for $1.15 each at a big box hardware store.
Our PPy masks are re-usable, washable and provide an unprecedented level of protection by utilizing the the process of conductive polymers to create an anti-microbial, anti bacterial barrier between your respiratory system and that of others around you. Inexpensive Single encounter masks should be changed/disposed of frequently, and are an eternal cost. In exactly 30 days the the PPy mask will have paid for itself (assuming only one single encounter mask per day). The result is you enjoying excellent unique protection for no cost after that.
3. How are different sizes addressed? Update - small / children's masks now available!
At this point the masks are one size fits most.If your mask is a little big you can shorten the ear loops to reduce the size. If the mask is too tight you can create your own "head strap" by connecting the ear loops with several methods (google ideas) or you can order pre-made extenders here
4.Why is polypyrrol so unique?
The methods used for manufacturing the germ killing material is based upon conductive polymers that are biocidal killing bacteria and microbes and are embedded deep into the mask fibers by a lab technique utilizing ultrasound. This process allows the cotton twill fabric (Now PPy) to catch and kill bacteria and microbes.
